Rational comparison sequences
Rational series can agree with the totient series on a fixed prefix, on parity at every index, or on specified linear data. The following constructions keep these requirements separate. Each gives a rational comparison satisfying the data named in its statement, and thus identifies what those data alone leave undetermined. The properties in different rows below belong to different constructions; they must not be combined into one comparison theorem.
| Construction | Data kept while the value is rational |
| Prescribed prefix (Theorem 2.4) | Any fixed totient prefix and the bound
|
| Parity (Proposition 1.9) | Parity at every index, aperiodicity and the stated size bound. |
| Value |
Every odd totient, changes of at most
|
| Signed interpolation (Section 10.10) | A prefix, all odd totients, and the specified moment and analytic data; not the full radial germ or all arithmetic identities. |
Finite data and rational continuations
A rational sequence with any prescribed totient prefix
